Effective home remedies for cough


We all know what it feels like to suffer from a cough. It can keep you up at night. Or you start to cough at the most unwanted of places. It can cause an extremely sore throat and even cause you to lose your voice temporarily. Then there is sore scratchy or itchy throat, chest pain and even congestion, So what home remedies is considered effective ways to deal with a cough? There is cough syrup that you can buy, but why not try one of these? You may be amazed to see how effective it is.



Turmeric



Ingredients

  • Half cup water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • cinnamon sticks (optional)


Method
Add water, turmeric powder and black pepper in a pot and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. 
Now add the honey and the cinnamon sticks. 
Use this drink every day till cough improves 

 Effective for dry cough

Ginger

Ingredients

  • Cup of water
  • Fresh ginger sliced and slightly crushed
  • Honey
  • Lemon juice

Method
Boil water and add ginger pieces. Add honey and lemon juice according to your preference.
Drink this mixture three to four times a day.

Great for congestion helps relief sore throat and helps stop coughs.

Lemon

Ingredients
  • Two table spoons lemon juice
  • One table spoon honey
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Method
Mix everything together and drink this syrup a few times every day.

Helps to reduce inflammation and a good dose of vitamin C which helps fight infections 

Honey and milk

Ingredients

  • Glass of hot milk
  • Tablespoon honey


Method
Add the honey to the milk and drink  before going to bed.
To even help more take a teaspoon of honey on an empty stomach.

Reduce pains in chest as well as alleviate coughs
Taking honey in the morning will help clear up mucus and helps to soothe the throat

Water
Yes you may wonder water? 
You must be joking right.
But it is effective. 
It really does work.
By drinking water you help your body get rid of the cough causing mucus.
If you don't drink enough fluids mucus builds up.
But water gets rid of it.
 Before you know it you will find that the cough stopped.
