Waxing the good the bad and the home made recipes

Today I want to talk about something that many feel they will never consider. It is frowned upon by many. Yet those who do this as part of their beauty routine will praise the effectiveness of it. Painful? Yes. Effective mostly.  Facial hair, arms legs back and hair on many other parts can be removed by using this method But many will feel they will stick to their preferred ways of dealing with unwanted hair..  It is an opinion from the one person the next. But it is best only in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. I am talking about waxing. Many are not sensitive to waxing. But for those who are sensitive to waxing. It is best to use other ways to get rid of unwanted hair


Waxing is an effective way to deal with unwanted hair growth. For 6 to 8 weeks there is no issue about hair growth. Hair growth will be thinner. So many consider it as an ideal way to deal with unwanted hair growth. First the home made waxing recipes. There is a variety of ways available. It is about personal preference.

Sugar wax

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 or 2 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)  


Place everything together in a saucepan. Put the pan with the mixture on the stove. Medium high heat is best temperature for melting the ingredients. Keep stirring the mixture. Please know that sugar can burn fast. The intention is to melt the sugar. You are looking for a consistency that is syrup in appearance. It should be golden brown in appearance. Remove the mixture from the stove. Pour into container that can handle high heat. Leave the mixture to cool for two hours before you want to use it. 

Honey wax

  • 1 cup white sugar, granulated
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Juice of half a lemon 


Put all the ingredients in saucepan. Stir everything. Again remember that sugar burns easily so stir frequently.  Keep doing that till everything has melted. There should not be any sign of sugar granules. Remove the mixture from the stove and leave it to cool to room temperature. 

Waxing method

Use cotton fabric cut into strips after applying a thin layer of wax over freshly washed skin. Rub with your fingers to make sure everything spreads evenly. Always apply wax in the direction of hair growth. Never the opposite. Leave it to harden on skin. Now take the side of the strip and quickly remove the strip from your skin. Pull the opposite direction of hair growth.  

Word of caution

In the hands of a novice it is very very dangerous. So get information about safely waxing or ask a friend that knows enough already to help. Make it a girls hangout. If the wax mixture drips easily. Do not attempt to use it. The only thing you will experience is painful burns on your skin. And it can be very serious. Depending on how hot the mixture is. So if you are a first time user. Please first and most. Be careful. Do not burn yourself. Not only is it painful. It is also very dangerous if the burns are severe. Find a friend that has experience. Or find information to avoid burning yourself.

How to deal with waxing burns.

If it is minor burns. This will be effective. By minor burns I mean some redness and swelling that may occur. For more severe burns find medical help.
First apply an ice pack. Do not directly apply ice cubes onto skin. Wrap ice cubes in cloth or towel. Something that will avoid freezer burns. And leave it on for a few minutes. Apply Vaseline over the area as it protects skin from becoming infected. This is only effective it is some minor burns. If you find that you have severe burns you should seek medical attention. Do remember that skin that has burns are prone to infections. You will deal with redness and swelling for a few days but your skin will heal.

Onions for hair growth

Hair loss affects both men and women. So many worry and try many different ways to fight hair loss. But here is a safe way to combat hair loss while giving your hair nutrients it needs.

If hair loss is caused by a fungal infection on your scalp. It actually promotes hair growth and is cost effective. Yes onions is the solution. It also helps to stimulate your scalp while helping your hair follicles so that new hair can grow. It is  already a well known home remedy for many. Why does onion work so well? Because your hair needs sulfur and onions just happen to be a great source of sulfur. Sulfur helps to stimulate hair follicles. Which in turn helps to promote hair growth. Onion juice
Peel the onions. Now chop into smaller pieces. You are looking for the juice. So feel free to use a blender juicer grater or even a food processor. Apply onto your hair. Massage the juice into your scalp. Make sure the bald patches are covered with the juices. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes. If you can take the smell of the onions you can leave it on for longer. Wash out using a mild shampoo.

Onion and honey.
Take 1 tablespoon honey and mix it with quarter cup of onion juice.  You can double the recipe according to how much you need. Apply the mixture onto your scalp. Leave the mixture on for 30 minutes.  You can leave the mixture on overnight if you prefer. Just place a shower cap over your hair. Rinse off and wash the mixture out with a mild shampoo.

Learning to live life with contentment

We approach a new year. We make promises and commitments to ourselves. But how many of us consider learning to be more content? Yet we all desire it in our daily lives. Dont we? At the end of the day what we did matters. Not to others but to each one of us. So today I want to discuss how we can learn to be more content in our lives. It will take honest in depth soul searching from your side.


1 Consider what is important.

Remeber what is important to you. What is it that you want to do? How do you want to spend your time. What exactly is it that you want to accomplish?

2. Consider the commitments you make.

Do you find that your life is just to busy? That you try doing everything while ending up exhausted in the process? Then start by accepting that you can not do everything. Leave the less important commitments and focus on the more important commitments. 

3. Learn to do less every day
Learn to leave time after each appointment.  Dont try make appointments back to back. If you do that you end up more stressed and you will feel rushed. You will end up doing less than you planned and you wont feel good at the end of the day. By leaving time between each appointment you will be able to be more focused and relaxed.

4. Consider leaving many things from your to do list.

Learn to simplify your to do list just down to the essentials. By doing this you will be able to slow down feeling more relaxed.  Slow down and enjoy each task you take on. It is good to focus on the task no matter what it is. Also it is good to pay attention to each task you want to take on.  

5. Live in the moment

It may seem easy to do but you may find it is challenging. So remind yourself to live in the moment. Unless of course ot means pain. That isn't an option and nothing to be enjoyed. 

6. Focus on each task

What ever it is you are doing . Make sure it is one thing at a time.  If driving enjoy the journey. Take the time to enjoy the journey. Don't be rushed to reach your destination.

7. Remove stress from your life
Find out what cause tension and stress in your life and try to eliminate them. Just don't do anything. Yes. Make time for you. It is your time to recover from your day and what ever caused stress. This is the time you use to find your balance again.

8. Learn to focus on the present moment. 
Do things that you find pleasurable. Don't delay on things that make you feel it is all worth it. Make the time now and stop thinking maybe later. Time waits for no one.

These are suggestions that can make us feel content. At the end of the day when you are relaxing and getting ready to sleep. What you feel and think matters. Living life rushing means you lose out on the beauty of the moment. The thing to remember you don't get the moment back again.

If you are one of the millions that makes a commitment to lose weight as a new year's resolution. You probably did lots of research. What adds to weight gain and what helps you lose weight. Some way are debatable and some are just plain a risk for your health. As many may have realized. So today I am telling you the way to lose weight and gain muscle. So as the image says we will discuss fat loss as an effective way to be healthy.


1. Leave your scale 

First thing to know is that your scale doesn't recognise the difference between fat and muscle. If you start exercising you will find you gain weight. Yes it may be distressing to many. But at the same time you will find you lose inches. Now that is the idea of weight loss isnt it?

2. Consider the amount of calories you take in

Our bodies are created wonderful. But if you don't know what you doing you can actually kick in starvation mode if you cut calories completely. It is a survival mechanism that we are created with. So losing inches will become more difficult. The secret is to consider smaller amounts of calories. Meaning smaller portions and you will find your body will burn those unwanted fats at a increased rate.

3. Smaller portions matter

As mentioned before considering smaller portions (6) instead of 2 or 3 big meals is another way to lose weight. This way your body will be able to give the much needed nutrients where it is needed while at the same time you will lose those inches. 

4. Eat more healthy fats

I can hear some thinking but the idea is to lose fat why should we now eat fats. Doesnt that mean we will gain more weight? No when you consider good fats actually helps you to lose weight. No it doesnt mean I just told you to go out and have junk foods. As said consider healthy fats. Such as olive oil, egg yolks and especially fats that is rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Better explained as polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats.

5. Protein intake matters

If you increase your protein intake you will help your body to increase its metabolic rate. So you maintain muscle while losing fat. Actually by increasing your protein intake you will discover your body will burn more calories. 

6. Remember to cut down on carbohydrates

The one thing everyone will agree on is that limiting carbohydrates matter when you want to lose weight and gain muscle. The best type of carbohydrates should be from vegetables and oatmeal. While it is vital to limit sugar and starches. It is advised that you should eat carbohydrates in the morning and close to the time you will be exercising.

7. High intensity exercise

 You had to know this one would be added as a successful way to lose fat and gain muscle. It is very important to remember warm up exercises. If you know that you aren't really the exercising type and you not in the best shape for high intensity exercise then consider a low intensity exercise or cardio exercises. You can consult your doctor or physician before doing this.

8. Weight training
If you consider resistance training you will discover it helps lose body fat in a variety of ways. It is also a safe way to ensure that you lose fats instead of muscle. If it happened it would mean your metabolic rate would slow down and your efforts will become much more difficult to gain muscle while losing fat.

These are just a few ways that will help you lose fat while at the same time gain muscle. It will take commitment and effort from you. But only you will feel good with the results when you see the difference. So as the new year is closing in on us. Why not make a healthy body and life your goal? Here I want to share the on line answer to know if someone is interested in you.  As life becomes more technology based. We spend hours on the Internet using our favorite chatting platforms. So I want to show how to know if someone on line in interested in you.. Especially with social sites like Twitter Facebook and Google+ . Please know I am also sharing warnings and advice. As social sites are filled with those bad types of people too


If the person is on a website that doesn't really allow them to tell much about themselves. That is a clear way to know he or she isn't interested in you. But websites like Facebook Twitter and others a person can talk more about himself or herself. The person will be sending you pictures of himself/herself. But will make sure it is good looking pictures. Please note if the person sends many pictures that means the person is just trying to impress you. Does he or she ask you questions? How many siblings do you have? What is your IQ? That is just trying to get to know you. Not being nosy. (Iam still working on believing it though) But always remember if the person gets too personal you don't have to answer or respond. Some times the intention is to find out how perfect you are. 

Now comes the other part. Does the person ask you for inappropriate pictures? Yes then there is no interest in you. Sorry but it is true. The person is just looking for someone that will do what they asks. No real interest in you. There is a difference between talking about yourself and bragging. Does the person brag? Then again the person is just trying to impress you again. If they wants to meet you somewhere. Make sure it doesn't mean the bedroom. The person is the same as the loser mentioned above. Be smart and wise. 

Then some warnings. Never send a picture of yourself unless the person does that first. Never meet someone without letting a loved one know where you will be and more details. If you are threatened. Then it is important to remove ban or block. Or best to report the person to the social website.

Stay hydrated
For best way to boost your metabolic rate water is very essential. Your metabolism at optimum means best way to burn fat. Water is essential as it helps to remove the layer of fat that is formed on your abdominal muscles.

Smaller portion meals more times during the day 
You have to realize if you starve yourself. You actually help your body to store fat. It is the body's way to protect itself. Self preservation. (Same if you look at trees or plants. Leaves fall off to protect itself if for any reason there is any danger off dying. It will rather lose the leaves and live than die while trying to nourish leaves too.) How to get a woman to like you

You know this woman. You know everything about her. Want to make sure she likes you. But how do you get her to like you? Confidence is very important. It is very easy to fall in the friend zone if you are not confident. If you are needy, insecure and lack confidence. You will stay in the friend zone and be excluded from the boyfriend potential. So you end up with lots of female friends that they can talk to about their boyfriend. Crying their eyes out. You just sit there handing them a box of tissues.


You have to show her that you live your own life. Now don't be confused. Be there for her. But not all the time. Let her know you are a part of her life. But the idea is too build attraction between you. If she gets too comfortable. She will view you as a friend. And then you are stuck in the friend zone. She has to be attracted to you before being comfortable with you. Obviously personal grooming is important. So give attention to that. But what you must remember is that you have attraction. You want her attracted to you. But if that is on your mind. She will catch on quickly and she will be turned off. Have fun. be cool. be comfortable. When you are together it isn't a good idea to use cologne that is overwhelming. So a milder and gentler cologne is better. Body wash or essential oil may be perfect. Or even shampoo that smells nice is a great idea. It is our senses that make us notice things and people. If you are overweight it gives the impression you wont be able to protect her. So hit the gym once or twice a week. You don't have to be someone like Jean Claude Van Damme or Arnold Schwarzenegger. Just need a toned body. Doing that will stir sexual desires and she will definitely notice you.

Now comes the part where you talk to her. Now that can be a little tricky. because it should be a conversation between you both. You don't want to be too quiet. But its not good to just ramble on. She wont care to take part in the conversation. As she doesn't seem needed to be a part of it. (Can talk about something funny, or your childhood. Things you have in common.But remember the conversations to avoid. Relationships, health, money, family issues and obviously sex) 

After you two had a nice conversation. You want her number. Right after a topic. Tell her you have to be somewhere. Look at her apologetic. Ask her phone number. That will show you are really interested in her. Or if she doesn't want to share that. Ask for an email address or what ever social network she uses. But remember to share your details with her too. Flirt with her because it keeps you out of the friend zone. Compliment her on her appearance. Smile at her. Watch how she reacts on your comments. But no sexual comments. Big turnoff. Stay cool calm and collected. 

Remember she may be nervous as well. So if you did make a bad joke chances are it will be overlooked. Compliment her. But remember to focus on a different thing each time or she will lose interest in how beautiful she is Because you say it so often. Watch where you touch. Remember every woman is different. Safe areas would be arms hands or shoulders. If you get the feeling that the feeling is mutual. Make a joke with a double meaning. See how she behaves. Does she smile or respond with disapproval?

By now she should be interested in you. So ask her out on a date. But remember to make her feel special. She should be the center of your world. It would be a good time to confide in her. Remember that chivalry isnt dead. Give her flowers. Or her favorite treat. If its cold give her your jacket. Open the car door. It is about how special you make her feel.

I remember someone once asked me what to do. He liked this woman. But he was nervous. I gave him this advice. Its about how you make her feel. We always remember how people make us feel. Dress up. Just nice looking because its shows you respect her. You go on a date bring her flowers. Try to find out what her favorite flowers is. She will appreciate that gesture. But remember at all times make her feel important. He went on a date with her. During the date he contacted me to say it is going great. I told him I am happy, Because I knew he was very nervous. All the concerns on his mind. What to wear? What to do? How to behave. But I told him it is her time now. We can talk later. Focus on her. So their relationship grew stronger. So yes it is possible. It can happen for you too. Just remember these things. Confidence is key. Be comfortable. Stay out of the friend zone. Make her feel special. Compliment her.

The known gray area in relationships.

I thought of many posts I could write. But after a discussion with someone. I decided on this. I am not going to sugarcoat this. It is very serious and no joke. There is no buts and absolutely no excuses for it. 

When is it acceptable to look past the gray area? But lets start with the known gray area. First tip. Image does explain it a little bit. What is the gray area? You like someone. But she is with someone else. Is it still acceptable to say you want her? Or even him. Wife or girlfriend, husband or boyfriend. Someone else's partner. Now there is the twist.


How will you interfering make things any better? How is that good, caring or respectful? When a marriage gets a third person. Or even a relationship.  It always has very bad consequences. I saw posts of how can you get another man's girl or to take another woman's man. But I am not going to write about that. That will not be posted on this site. Sorry you can find that elsewhere. Because life has no gray areas. Gray areas gives bad consequences. Cheat, betrayal, broken trust. To name a few. It hasn't got any excuses. Its faithful or unfaithful. Its commitment or lack thereof. But at no time is it an area where you can give other reasons than truth. It doesn't have excuses, So why create some? Or is that acceptable?

Respect that the person isn't single. But do people really listen? No she is married, but her husband treats her bad. If her marriage is bad. Be a friend. Do not overstep the boundaries that is there. Or you love her/him and need him/her? So what if the person isn't single. If you were the other party. How would you feel? Gray.. is it a good place to start? What about the trust that is lost? Still all fine? Broken promises? Very nice. As long as it isn't you.

No matter what. Let the couple resolve everything themselves. If things arent going well. Be a friend. It shows respect for the person. Dont jump at the chance to see what you can benefit if things arent going well. 

There is a saying that is known to some. The way you get a person. Is also the way you lose a person. Very rare that its different. There is no gray area. Because when you start to make excuses and give reasons. Its called cheating and betrayal. That hurt's another. Some innocent person that really doesn't deserve that.

How to cope when a relationship doesn't work out.

In movies relationships is mostly about finding that one. But life isn't a romantic fairy tale. In real life its about keeping things good between both parties. And as bad as it is. Sometimes things don't work out. So what do you do when you find yourself in this scenario? Fact is that no one wants it. But almost everyone deals with it at some point in their lives.


There is a few options. Its not easy to love someone that doesn't feel the same. Cant force anyone to love you. If it was real you wouldn't have to fight for the affection you need. So how do you cope?Give yourself time to adjust. Feelings should be handled with care. If that person was important in your life. It will take time to deal with things. But you can and will get through it.

Spend time with friends and family. Don't be alone. The times you are alone that is when your mind will wander. Don't sit around and do nothing. Your mind will go back to the person. Stay busy. Start a new hobby. Pamper yourself. Yes, When last did you do something that is just done for you? Can be a relaxing bath. Or go shopping. Go for a pamper session at a spa. 

Or if you are a man. Do something that makes you feel good, important and needed. What ever you do. Don't sit around doing nothing. You need your mind busy and occupied. As time goes on. You will find that you think less of that person. Time does heal wounds. But don't feed the wounds you want to heal. Stay focused on other things. Things may have ended or wasn't meant to be. Still it wasn't a waste of time. You learn't something in the experience. Can be something you learn't about you. Or some trait you find important and needed in a relationship. And please whatever you do. Don't just go for the next person if you know you aren't ready. Many do that. But end up feeling much more miserable. No one should be a replacement. Not even you.

It is not good feeling alone in a relationship. Many feel they are not heard, or worse not even seen, so they suffer in silence. This post is not about a bad day. It is about continuously feeling alone and lonely. So be mindful of that.

You may ask yourself what is a meaningful relationship? 
Well it is when you can express yourself and your feelings. Whatever is in your mind or heart with no fear. You can share your sorrows, thoughts, dreams and even tears. All that knowing you can say it all and still feel safe in your relationship. No questions or fear of rejection. 

So why is it needed? 
Because it create feelings of being accepted, feeling more worthy, but also more important. Makes us feel loved. That can make the relationship blossom, or if it doesn't happen it can shatter it. All depending on the behaviour of your partner. We all desire to be loved and accepted. To have conversations. But meaningful conversations.  It should be shared and not hidden. Sharing precious moments makes it a deeper experience. Or when it is difficult times your partner can help with the healing process.

If we can not share what is in our hearts. We can not strengthen our relationship. We can not feel at ease. We can not be comfortable. We don't feel heard or appreciated. Which creates feelings of being alone. Some times our partner doesn't even realize we feel that way. 

So there is only one way to change it. 
Make time and talk. Make sure they know it. You have to be able to express yourself to your partner or you will feel this way and things wont improve. Or worse things will end. If you can not express your feelings with your partner. You wont be happy. You wont feel loved and appreciated. So make the change. Make time. Talk. But talk about what you need to talk about to feel appreciated. Don't be nervous.

Relieve migraine attacks by using these home remedies

Suffering from migraine attacks disrupts everyday life. It is extremely painful and can last up to 72 hours for every migraine attack. But what can be done to help relieve the migraine attacks naturally?
I posted an article previously and here am updating with even more natural ways to help ease migraine attacks at home



I am not suggesting that anyone should stop taking any medication for it. I know very well it is painful. But if you are at home and you dont have medication you can consider a natural home remedy that works.

Coffee

Drinking a strong cup of coffee may help to reduce the effects of the migraine. As coffee has caffeine it helps by restricting the blood vessels causing the receptors to be blocked. You can add a few drops of lemon juice, freshly squeezed. But be warned that for some people caffeine can actually make the migraine worse. Or it can cause another rebound headache.  

Feverfew

Did you ever hear about feverfew? It is a herb that is used to help combat migraines effectively. As it contains parthenolide. It works because it helps to prevent inflammation and help to relax the muscles. As it helps by neutralizing prostaglandins. This means it helps to reduce the pain signals.

Methods to use feverfew leaves

  • Start by taking a teaspoon of dried peppermint as well as feverfew leaves. Leave it for 30 minutes in a cup of hot water. Strain it and drink the tea as the day progresses. Do this till the pain goes away. Or
  • You can also eat 2 or 3 leaves each day or 
  • You can take dried feverfew leaves and placing it in empty capsules. Taking it as a daily supplement. But it is best to consult your doctor before doing this.
Chamomile

Chamomile is effective in helping to relieve the pain of migraine as it has soothing properties as well as anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. Just by drinking chamomile tea it can help to even prevent getting migraines. It is best to use "german chamomile" as it has proved to be most effective against migraines.


Using chamomile

  • 2 or 3 teaspoons dried chamomile flowers with a cup of hot water. Leave it for a few minutes and you can strain the tea. Now you can add some honey or lemon juice as you would prefer. Drink this tea for at least 4 times during the day.
  • You can mix equal amounts of chamomile, horehound and meadowsweet with hot water in a cup. Leave it for minimum 5 minutes. Strain and enjoy the tea. 


Ginger

Ginger works for the fact that it works against inflammation in blood as well as the brain. Also ginger helps as it blocks the prostaglandins. Meaning it helps as it blocks the substance that helps to promote your muscles to contract thus causing pain. 
Using ginger

  • You can chew a piece of raw ginger during the day till you feel it has helped and relieved the migraine. This should also help to ease nausea and troubling digestive system 
  • Drink tea made with ginger during the day. If you even feel a migraine coming you can make this tea and drink it.
Additional tips and advice
It is also wise to consider relaxation methods such as yoga or even meditation. Try to be more relaxed even if it means finding a space that you can find your balance again. Release stress, that is very important. Also drink lots of water and avoid any foods that you know may cause or trigger migraine attacks. If you don't know what exact food causes it. Make a list of what you ate and cut out an ingredient each time. You will find exactly what helps trigger a migraine attack for you.

Strengthen your immune system naturally

As Summer is approaching here. Other parts of the world is starting to feel the effects of cooler weather. Most start thinking of boosting their immune systems. So what is the most effective way to boost your immune system naturally?

Consider your eating habits.
You are what you eat. Ever heard that saying? So if you try to eat and live healthy it is of benefit to you.  Your immune system need foods that is filled with nutrients. That means consider fruits vegetables and nuts as a necessary part of your diet. Less fatty unhealthy foods and more of the good foods. Avoid sugary drinks like sodas and consider healthier versions.
Consider your stress levels
Did you know that when you are stressed it has an unhealthy effect on your immune system? Your body stays on high alert and it is wearing you down. Now, I know that we live in a stress filled world. But it is good to find an effective outlet for your tension. Such as soothing music, or a massage and meditation. All are healthy ways to get rid of that unwanted stress.
Exercise
Yes I know I keep mentioning it. But did you know that it actually decreases your stress levels? While at the same time improving your immune system. Now there is a reason to consider exercising. Your sleeping patterns
We all need sleep so that our bodies can recover from the day. It is the time our bodies use to repair and maintain itself. But lack of sleep affects the healing which will affect your immune system. 8 hours is considered adequate sleep.
Your patters of socialising 
Yes it is needed to go out and gather with friends and family. It does wonders for your mood and your immune system. For many of us we socialize with our pets. In a study that was done on students it was found that when petting an animal their bodies released more antibodies.  Which improved their immune system and was able to fight infections more efficiently. 
Friendly bacteria
Consider eating friendly bacteria that is good for you. You ever saw on yogurt words like "live cultures" It turns out this is actually good for you. as it improves your immune system. 
Vitamin D
How vital do you think Vitamin D is for your immune system? If your body doesnt have enough Vitamin D your is severely effected and your immune system is at risk  More important how do you make sure you get enough Vitamin D. Ahh the sun, wonderful and such a great source of Vitamin D.  So consider spending some time in the sun without wearing sunscreen. Not long periods and when it is considered high risk. But exposure to sun helps your body soak up that wonderful Vitamin D.
Consider healthy habits.
Good clean habits like washing hands is good for you. Obviously always good to do. Good clean sanitary habits does wonders too. But don't overdo it. Turns out that over-sanitising isn't such  good habit to have. You have a wonderful immune system. Let it do what it was created to do. An ultra clean environment doesn't allow your immune system to strengthen or improve. Yes some exposure to germs is needed as it will boost your immune system while at the same time help your immune system to mature.

Home made bubble bath made easy DIY


We all love taking time to relax and recuperate when taking a bath. 
But today I am sharing a natural and safe home made bubble recipe.
You know what is added and you can adapt to it to your liking



Ingredients
2 cups grated or soap flakes
1 gallon water
1/4 to 1/2 cup glycerin
2 cups of your preferred shampoo 
Essential oil 15 to 30 drops (Lavender and chamomile is a good option) 
Never add more than 30 drops 

Method
Start by mixing the soap flakes, the water and only 2 tablespoons glycerin in a pot. On low heat. Stirring the mixture in the pot till the soap flakes has dissolved completely. 
(Right here. It is ideal to use as hand wash soap if you feel like it.)
Store the unused mixture in a container that is covered. 
Take only 2 cups of the mixture and add it to the rest of the glycerin. 
Now add the shampoo and the essential oil.
Again don't add more than 30 drops of your preferred essential oil.
15 drops to be safe
Pour to your bath water as desired.


Lovely fragrant luxurious bubble bath that is home made
But no one would know the difference
Best of all. It has no harmful chemicals. 
It is all natural and depending on your essential oil you used it even has more benefits too. 
Also makes a lovely gift

Why it is important to exercise and to start if you dont do it already.

I want to discuss something that is serious. You may have heard it so many times. Never thought seriously about it. After all if we hear something a lot we tend to forget why it is necessary.  Why do we need to exercise? Did you ever wonder why it is said so very often?


Allow me to give one example. Now many who go to the beach say once maybe twice a year may agree to this. Just walking on the sand everyday makes a difference than normal walking down the street. It is a simple example yet it is true. Your legs and thighs gets a workout even though you may think you are fit and well. So end result is more aches till you get used to it. That is how our bodies work. Exercise is needed to keep every part of our body fit and well. If we don't use our bodies correctly we lose that flexible fit body we strive for.

As our lives changed we became people who may not live as active as we should. How many hours do you move around staying active?  Did you know that your heart and your lungs doesnt work as it should. Your joints become stiff. You can get injured easier than someone that is fit and exercises regularly. It is a major health risk. 

Reasons to consider exercise
If you are worried about appearance, well exercise has great benefits to improve appearance. It delays the aging process. If you exercise you will find that you have more stamina. You wont get tired as the person who just started exercising. You will find that your body will become more toned and defined. You will feel more energetic but will look much better too. Well obviously you will find that you are more flexible as you work your muscles. Bending stretching and twisting while exercising means your body will become more relaxed. Then there is weight loss. Yes exercise is linked to weight loss as exercising burns calories faster. More calories is burned while exercising better weight loss will be. But that also means limiting calorie intake to be efficient. 

It may not be easy to start or to stay committed to exercising, but once you start you will find reasons why it is good to continue. Stress levels will improve, Your moods will be much better. Better sleep at night. You will feel and look younger. More energy than you used to have. Isnt that improving your lifestyle too? 

Now comes the question how often is considered adequate exercise? The most important thing to remember is being consistent. Too much exercise can put strain on your muscles while too little exercise can cause muscle turning losing it's toned appearance again. Yes it means loss of fit and lean muscles. Which is why you start exercising it is important to stay committed to it.  

There is exercises like cardio. Three times a week is safe and effective. For more experienced people there is aerobics. Exercises like jogging walking or even bicycling. It should not go for longer than an hour. 
When you are thinking of weight lifting you have to remember that your muscles will need enough time to recover from strenuous exercise. Three times a week is adequate.
Stretching is so important when exercising yet many forget about it. It helps with flexibility. This can be done three to four times a week. Warming up and cooling down should be part of any exercise routine. it is good to remember that 5 to 10 stretches is required to help your muscles. Hold every stretch at least for 10 seconds minimum.

So with that in mind. There is so many benefits to exercising but we will only find the answer ourselves when we start to exercise. So I hope this article makes you reconsider how healthy your lifestyle is.

Ways to get rid of toe nail fungus using natural home remedies safely and effectively

Did you know that about 800 million people has, had or have toe nail fungus? That it is difficult to remove or cure of you dont know what to do?  As it gets under the nail damaging it. It can occur on finger and toe nails. But is more common on toenails.  It affects both men and women.


The image shown is a mild case of toe nail fungus. You can go for laser treatment. But I want to share natural cost effective ways to get rid of toe nail fungus. Ways that is effective and safe but works.
Toe nail fungus thickens the nail, discoloring it. Also breaks and cracks the nails. It can be from mild to severe. But I am sharing safe natural home remedies that will get rid of toe nail fungus for good.

Apple cider vinegar
Take a cotton wool. Dip in apple cider vinegar. Put on the nail that is affected. Fasten it with tape. At night replace with fresh cotton that is soaked in apple cider vinegar.

Another way is simply relaxing with your feet soaked in apple cider vinegar. Or another if you don't have apple cider vinegar, although apple cider vinegar is preferred. Do not clean feet afterwards. Leave it to dry on it's own.

Listerine mixture
One bottle of Listerine mouth wash. 
10 ml tea tree essential oil
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Mix all ingredients together in a bottle
Pour a small amount in a small container
Apply on the toes using a toothbrush, making sure you rub it in 
Do this every day morning and night.
Always remember to clean the toothbrush after every use, as well as the small container.

Vicks Vaporub
As Vicks Vaporub has antifungal properties it is an effective treatment for toe nail fungus.
Simply apply on the affected nail or nails. 
Do this 3 times a day. 

Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil also has anti fungal and antibacterial properties. Apply it on the affected area using a Qtip. 
Repeat daily.

Salt
Allow me to add a remedy for toenail fungus that I know works. Just add a teaspoon of salt to lukewarm water and leave your feet to soak in it for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
 For the same reason walking along the beach in the ocean waves is just as effective and if you are lucky enough to be someone to live at the coast. Do this and see it clear up in within one week or two depending on how severe the fungus is. Salt itself is antibacterial. And antifungal.

Please note
Please note that if the nail has been damaged badly it may fall off and a new nail will appear in it's place. So if that happens don't stress about that. If you are diabetic please remember that it is not advised that your feet stay wet for too long.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons ginger powder/4 fresh ginger roots chopped. 
$ tablespoons dried juniper
2 tablespoons dried rosemary
4 tablespoons dried lemon peel/1 lemon quartered 

Mix and use when bathing. By adding to bath water.

As this is effective in treating varicose veins. You have to realize that some habits you have may actually make the problem worse. 

  • Standing for too long periods of time

Home made shampoo that is beneficial for your hair. Treatment for hairloss and dandruff

After the last post I have been thinking. How safe is the products we buy? More specific in our cleansing routine. Body wash, shampoo but more specific is there a safe natural way that can be used instead of buying products that we hope is safe to use.

So with that in mind I am starting with shampoo and yes there is countless natural ways that we know is safe. But at the same time it should be beneficial, as well as all natural for your hair. But just as important hair should look vibrant and be improved. 

Egg shampoo

Ingredients
Take one egg
One tablespoon olive oil
One teaspoon lemon juice
Half cup water or herbal tea
5 drops of your preferred essential oil

Method
Mix everything together and use as you would use a shampoo.
For best results heat up the mixture before applying (just warming up, not hot)

Green tea & Aloe Vera shampoo

Bowl of hot water
Add 4 green tea teabags (depending on length)
Leave the tea bags for ten minutes in the water
Aloe vera (preferably from a plant)
Mix everything together in a blender
Pour into a spray bottle
Apply to your hair
Afterwards do a 2 minute scalp massage to increase the benefits of the mixture
Leave on hair for 10 to 15 minutes
Rinse with water
Dry as normal

This mixture will leave your hair soft, shiny. May even help for dry scalp. Is ideal if you have hair fall troubles or dandruff

This can be considered a hair treatment too. If you don't like the idea of leaving shampoo completely. But I do believe that what ever products we use. It should be off benefit to us. Best of all it is a natural way of taking care of your hair.

Anxiety disorder. What you need to know about it

Life is so fast paced that we can easily start feeling anxious and stressed. So I want to discuss anxiety disorder. What exactly is anxiety disorder? Anxiety is described as an overwhelming fear. It is excessive and is clearly a negative feeling. We all suffer from anxiety at some stage in life. But when exactly does it become anxiety disorder?

If it exceeds six months and causes overwhelming unhappiness or affects a person's life to be problematic. Those who suffer from anxiety tend to avoid certain situations or even fear situations as it is seen as very stressful.

Physical symptoms.

  • When someone has anxiety the symptoms can be described as follows
  • Blood pressure rising.
  • Heart start to beat faster
  • Breathing becomes faster
  • Tension in muscles
  • Feeling nauseous 


Behaviors of anxiety

  • Avoiding situations
  • Literally prepare too much for a situation
  • Being too restless
  • Keep checking if everything is done right over and over again
  • Focusing on the negative, worry concern or fear of embarrassment


It may seem to be just dealing with life, but to those who suffer from anxiety disorder it becomes completely disruptive. Dealing with thoughts that isnt rational, nightmares, dealing with panic attacks. Clearly it affects family life, as well as work life. But the sad thing is that only a third of those who suffer with anxiety disorder gets diagnosed and the proper treatment.

Despite the fact that anxiety disorder affects literally millions of people world wide (America alone has over 6.8 million who suffer from anxiety disorder) there is a stigma associated with it. So many don't get the help needed to recover. 

People with this disorder has a feeling of catastrophe is going to occur. Even when life is going well these people worry. They stay in a constant state of worry and tension. Panic attacks usually reach it's peak within ten minutes. It can suddenly develop. It can be triggered by something or can happen without any reason. So people suffering from anxiety disorder live in a constant fear of another panic attack. 

But for people suffering from anxiety the first thing to remember is there is help available. Please do not live like this. Seek professional help. Believe me. You are not alone in this troubling state of mind. You deserve to live your life fully and with joy. Not being paralyzed by fear. 

This happened in my own family. And I know it is disruptive and can destroy your happiness. So I am not just writing something, I know how devastating this can be. It took lots of care and patience and consideration. Today I can say that it is going better. For anyone that has someone in your close circle that deals with anxiety. Please be patient. It isnt a phase or emotion. Encourage and help the one suffering to get the help needed. 

Foods and drinks to avoid
Coffee is a BIG no, change to tea, green tea, or rooibos tea
As coffee is a stimulant
Same goes for chocolate, limit chocolate intake but dark chocolate in a small amount is beneficial
Sugar should be limited as it can cause a spike in glucose levels which can result in a panic attack

Heart health changes that should be implemented daily

Today I am going to write about something that is very serious. And it affects everyone if it is ignored. Your heart. I am not thinking of your feelings or your love for someone. But about heart health. It does affect everyone especially if we don't choose a healthy lifestyle.


So what would be considered a heart healthy lifestyle then? You know the basics probably. Eat right, be active by exercising and consider a more stress free lifestyle. But when we talk of eating right. What exactly does that imply? The do's and the don'ts. Everyone has an opinion of what is right. Eat this don't eat that. 

First thing you have to acknowledge if you are not eating for the benefit of your heart, that there is a huge change needed. By taking these steps you should find the benefit of a heart healthy lifestyle. If you don't do that today it will affect your health later on.

Portion size.
The amount of food you eat is just as serious as what you out in your mouth. By overeating you end up with more calories than you should probably be consuming.  So for best advice it is wise to use a small plate when you want to control your portions. Eat more low calorie foods that is full of nutrients and less foods that is full of high calories and foods that is high in sodium. Fast foods are very guilty of this. Just by following this you should see a change in your waist as well as your heart health.

Fruits and vegetables.
These foods are full of good nutrients and is a great source of vitamins and minerals. Also god to consider because it doesn't have too much calories and is a source of dietary fibre. Some fruits and vegetables can actually help to prevent cardiovascular disease. Also if you consider more fruits and vegetables you will find that you eat less foods such as meat unhealthy snacks and cheese.

Whole grains.
How important would you think whole grain is for heart health? Answer very important as it plays a major role in regulating your blood pressure which in turn helps to improve heart health. Just by changing the whole grains by leaving the refined products. Consider whole wheat, whole grain and high fibre products. 

Fats
It is very important to limit unhealthy fats. So what is considered unhealthy fats? Saturated fats and trans fatty acids. To help control cholesterol and to lower your chance of developing coronary heart disease it is important to remember this. If your cholesterol levels are high it starts to build up in your arteries and you can have a stroke or a heart attack as a result.  So how do you limit these bad fats? By limiting your intake of butter margarine or shortening. Even when cooking it is important to limit these fats.  By trimming fat or even better choose lean meats. Also good to check the fat content on snacks as many of these snacks like chips cookies and crackers contents fatty acids. Even when it says reduced fats. The word to look for is hydrogenated fat or even partially hydrogenated.
The safer options is called monounsaturated fats. Like Canola oil or Olive oil.
Then there is polyunsaturated fats which can actually help to lower your cholesterol levels. Certain types of fish, nuts seeds and avocados is considered heart health choices. But even here it is important to remember to limit these fats too as all fats are full of calories. A wise choice would be to add flaxseed as it is high in fibre and rich in omega three fatty acids. This does help to lower cholesterol levels  

Low fat protein
Low fat dairy, eggs, lean meat, poultry and fish are considered the best protein sources. But again it is suggested that you must consider exactly what you eat. Skim milk vs. full cream milk. Skinless chicken vs. fried chicken. Always go for the option that contains less fat.
Fish that is good to consider as it is high in omega 3 fatty acids is salmon, mackerel, and herring.
As mentioned before flaxseeds is great but also a good source of protein. Then there is walnuts, soybeans and canola oil. Beans peas and lentils is a wonderful choice as it has no cholesterol and less fat.  

Sodium
Sodium also known as salt increases your chance of developing high blood pressure which in turn can become a high risk for cardiovascular disease. You can consider salt substitutes. If you eat processed foods you have to realize that the processed foods are high in salt. If you prefer easier and convenience foods check for sodium reduced.  

These changes can make a huge difference. We live in a world of convenience. And we don't take note of how good it is for our heart. I really hope this article will help to change peoples lives for the better.

Update
During the time this article was written one of my relatives went for heart 
bypass surgery. No doubt that it is a major heart operation. The risk involved is huge. That was the reason behind this post and yes, if it means one person can be saved the trauma and tension that an unhealthy lifestyle causes. Then this article was still worth it. 
My uncle thankfully is recovering well.
