DIY Body scrub that is gentle and inexpensive

Taking time to pamper yourself. It is not only good for mind but for well being too. So why not take time to pamper yourself properly? So with that in mind I share a natural and safe body scrub you can use at home at any time you feel you need some tender loving care. Think of it as your time to recover and refresh.


Olive oil 1 cup
Sea Salt half cup
Take note the amount is only an example.
It is a 2 (olive oil) to 1 (Sea salt) ratio

All you have to do is mix the olive oil and salt. For every spoon full of olive oil use half that amount of sea salt.
Use it as a gentle body scrub. 
Use it as you would use your normal body scrub.

The benefits? 
It gets rid of dead skin cells. Leaving a more radiant and youthful skin that is glowing. So you can even use this natural body scrub on that very important night.

Once you try this you will never go back to expensive body scrubs.

Conditioning hair treatment using coconut oil

If you are looking for hydrated and soft manageable hair. And you don't know what to do. Consider this all natural home remedy. Not only is this effective. It is also a great and cost effective way to get the results you want without any harmful chemicals. It is considered a favorite among everyone who follows this. 


All you will need is coconut oil.

Are you willing to make the change for a greener planet?

Today as I was busy. Rushing to get to my destination as usual. I was approached by a young gentleman. He talked about Green Peace and Global warming. After I came home. I thought a lot about what he said. It all made sense. We all know global warming exists. We all know everything is changing. Weather patters changed. Storms are becoming more violent. These are facts to consider. So what is the pledge we take? Do we ignore the fact that we can make a difference? Or do we find out what we can do to change it?

So what do we do to change the planet? It can be one small thing at a time. Please understand this isn't one of those posts to inspire you. No. It is to motivate us all. Me included. The fact is. This beautiful planet is our home. I recall a program I used to watch. Named the living planet. That is our planet. It gives and sustains life. For all of us. No matter where you are or what you do. Or even what language you speak. This is our home. This big blue beautiful gem is where we all live. Our home in the big universe. Sadly though we take it for granted and ignore all the signs that tells us to change and improve life on this planet. 

So with that in mind. I decided to share some ECO friendly tips.

  • Reuse
  • Recycle
  • Refuse

The intention is to reduce our footprint on the planet. Switch to reusable instead of  buying disposable items. Simplify your life. If you need it. By all means buy it. But if you know in honesty it is not going to make a difference. Why buy it?Or why not go to thrift shops and save an item.  As far as possible Switch from paper to cloth. Examples such as paper towels to cloth napkins. Paper towels to cloth towels.  From plastic bags switch to reusable bags. Switch from plastic to glass containers. Recycle items where it is possible. Do not waste water. It is a valuable resource. Teach your children the importance of remembering the planet we live on. We all have the choice. To either commit to make a difference or to ignore it. Which one will improve life for everyone? For all life. Whether it is people animals insects birds or fish. The list can go on. Are you ready to make the change? I know I am.

Almond honey bubble bath

Taking time to just unwind and relax seems to be a little more evasive as life gets busier. But why should taking a time out with a luxurious bubble bath be elusive? 1 tablespoon glycerin
Half (1/2) cup honey
Half cup (1/2) of your favorite liquid soap (gentle)
1 tablespoon almond extract

Add all ingredients together and stir it gently. Now pour it into a container with a seal able cap. Use when you want to take a relaxing bubble bath

Sugary spice bath

Taking time to just relax after a busy day is very important. But what if you can create your own bathing mixture to add to your bath water? To feel relaxed refreshed and revived. Tempted? Best thing about this mixture. You probably already have everything needed to create this mixture.

Half cup baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Half teaspoon ginger (ground)
Quarter teaspoon cloves (ground)

Mix all ingredients together. Make sure it is thoroughly mixed. Place in a dry and clean container. Every time you take a warm bath. Add two tablespoons of this mixture

This is without any doubt a very spicy bath mixture. It will have you feeling fresh and relaxed too. Try it and see for yourself

Portion control. What you should know.

As you look at your plate in front of you. Do you know how to divide your portions? How much would be considered a portion? And what exactly should you consume when you eat. Do you know the answers to this? If not. Many actually don't know what is the correct portion size. Nor do they know how to divide their plate into portion groups.  So we end up eating too much. 

The way your plate should be divided. 

As seen. Your plate should be divided into quarters. Excluding the good fats. Yes your body needs fat to function. So don't remove good fats from your plate. Quarter for starchy foods. Quarter for your preferred proteins. Whether you are vegetarian, Vegan or you eat meats. Still the same principle applies. The remaining half is meant for vegetables.

Now that you know how to divide your plate. Do you know what is considered portion size? No idea? Then allow me to help with an illustration. This is just a visual aid to know what is considered a portion. A better description for dividing your portions.

But did you know what is also considered starchy foods? You probably already know that rice, potatoes, pasta and grain falls under starchy foods. But did you know this? I only recently found out. So don't be surprised if you didn't know. Butternuts, pumpkin sweet potatoes. Yes it all falls under starchy foods too. So imagine how amazed I was to discover that. And here I thought it counts and vegetables. So when you serve dinner. Remember that it also falls under starchy foods. 

Live and learn I guess. By following this rule you will not only lose weight but you will also take care of your heath.. Giving your body vital nutrition it needs.

Onions used for colds and flu. Home remedy

Onions for cold and flu? Yes it is a very powerful household item to fight colds and flu effectively. Dealing with colds and flu? It is one of the most contagious illnesses that can really spread through a household. So recently this happened in my family too. Yes it started with one. And we all had to deal with the nasty effects of flu. Accidentally I came upon this unusual effective way to help with colds and flu.

You may already know that onions just have the right ingredients to help with colds and flu. But did you know about these home remedies that really works?

Trying to stop the cold or flu from spreading?
All you have to do is cut an onion and put it in bowl or glass or container without sealing it. Now place it in the room where the person is sick. Or every room where people gather. Not only will it help the person that is fighting colds and flu. But at the same time the onions traps the flu or cold from spreading.

Runny nose? No problem
By cutting an onion and placing it in water. Leaving it for a few minutes so the water can absorb some of the juices of the cut onion. By drinking the water after taking the onion out. You help clear congestion and stop a runny nose. You may have to do this a few times.

Honey and onion turns out to be a very potent cough remedy. Without any nasty side effects. Cut onion in pieces. Place in a jar with a lid that can seal. Add two tablespoons honey in the jar. Seal the lid. Place in the fridge. It is ready to use the next day. All you have to do is take a spoonful of the mixture. After taking the onion pieces out.  

Then there is the other advice I always share. Two things. Drink water to help get rid of the mucus. And the other. If you cough uncontrollably. Take a tissue or handkerchief. Blow your nose. You may be surprised but it helps many times to stop coughing.  Till the next time of course. Repeat this. Coughing is your body's way to try and get rid of the mucus. Remember that. 

This I share from personal experience. Thus I know it works.

Onions  that is used for home remedies should not be used for cooking the next day. Onions become highly poisonous. So please dispose of used or cut onions. Best to be safe and responsible.

The easiest bath salts recipe to try

As seen on here I share many DIY bath time products. Yes products you can make yourself. But this one has to be the easiest and for those in a hurry or limited time. This is just ideal. Best of all. You only need two ingredients. Intrigued? Want to know more? Well then let me share it.

One tablespoon shower gel. Your favorite off course.
One tablespoon coarse sea salt.

Option one
Combine both ingredients and rub it all over your body. Do not rub your face with it!! Just before you take your shower. Now when you shower it will wash off.

Option two
You can add this to your running bath water before taking a bath.

The result? 
Freshly pampered skin that feels invigorated. 
So why not do this and find the zest for life.

Sore muscles. Try this bath soak

Having sore muscles can be much more than just painful. It can affect how we do everything. Mobility can be affected. We do everything slower, much slower. So why wait for it to recover if you can make this home made bath soak for sore muscles.

Best thing about it. It is made at home and considered safe. You need only 4 ingredients and off course a container. This is a dry mixture so best to make sure it can not be in contact with any moisture.

Bath mixture for sore muscles.

Half cup milk powder
One cup Epsom salt
One cup sea salt
Half cup baking soda.

Mix all the ingredients together and use it when you want to take a warm relaxing bath. Epsom salt works wonders for sore muscles. So don't be surprised when the aches seem to disappear.

Here comes the first of a series of articles that may be unusual. But if you think about it. It may just make perfect sense. It is about the healing sounds that can and will improve your life. Flour helps for burns. Here is what you should know. And natural safe ways to help for minor burns

Did you read about the healing abilities that flour has when burns occurred in the kitchen? It is said to be safe and even healing. After revealing a miraculous healing experience from a person that experienced burns.Not leaving any evidence of that dreadful experience. No scarring. Just healed skin. Lovely isn't it. But is it true? Or safe. Can it work even? Sadly I have to tell you that it is a hoax that spread worldwide and no one knows the original source. Despite the fact that the advice seems legit. Experts say no. 

I too received this message. But after doing some research here is what you should know. It is not wise to use flour for burns. In fact it can only make the problem worse and much more severe.I fully agree that you should know what to do with burns. So I am sharing a safe way to help with skin burns

Depending on the severity of the burns. You can treat minor burns at home. More severe burns needs medical attention. But leave the rumor about the flour for you will only cause more harm than healing the wound. The facts show that because you chose to use flour on the wound it will result in the burning sensation increasing. It will even raise the temperature where the burning occurred. Causing more severe burns. 

So what can you do for minor burns? 

Lower the temperature of the burn immediately. Use water to cool down the burn. Cool water will lower the temperature of the burn. Do not use ice or ice cold water as it will result in tissue damage. You can use a hose shower or the sink. Do this until the wound does not hurt anymore. Five ten or fifteen minutes. 

Or you can use a cloth that is cool wet and very important it must be clean. Place it on the affected area. Then very carefully clean the wound with soap and water. Do not break open the blister if there is one. As it may cause infection. Then you can apply petroleum jelly on the affected area. Or if you have Aloe Vera you can use it too. Or ointments that is specifically for burns.

Again if the burn is more severe. Seek medical advice. But do not use flour if you suffer from burns. It is not true and will only result in more severe injuries.

Do you believe that sound has the ability to soothe our tired bodies or heal it in some way? Think of soothing sounds when you want to sleep. It is surprising how many people download apps to help them sleep. So that is also a confirmation of sounds affecting us. But some sounds can actually help us to focus. Beta waves aims to help stimulate your energy. It helps you to stimulate your thinking abilities. Whether it be logical, analytical or intellectual.

High level processing of information. Easily recall information to memory. It is said that the whole brain is linked as one and the person will experience the feeling of being blessed. In one word it can be said it combines. Because the whole brain as linked as one it is said to improve mental and physical performance. 

Then there is other types of frequencies that you can consider for your health. Or emotional well being. or if you want to help your body unwind. It is fascinating what sounds can do to your well being.

Do you believe what we say to ourselves affects us? At the precise moment you think something or say something to yourself a mental response is caused by what you think? Whether it is something positive or negative. Positive means you will be standing proud, you will feel good knowing you will get the desired result. Negative will be just as visible. Your body will show you did not have a good thought, your outlook will look much unhappier. You will not feel good. 

At that moment we change something in our lives. As the saying goes, if we believe we will not be able to do something we already set ourselves up for failure. Yes at that moment we change our belief in our own abilities. Worse even, in ourselves. The difference with people who actually do what they set out to do? They know and believe they can do what they set out to do. 

Always remember the golden rule

The golden rule applies in every day life. Not just in one specific situation. People have different views of success. For some it is to have the life they always wanted. For others it can be success. But always remember that real success. Should not be set by the standards of others. But by knowing you can live with the choices you make. Not just today or a month from now. But to know your life is rewarding. Yes that at the end of each day. You will know you did what you wanted to do. And you find joy in what you.

Why am I sharing this? Let's just say it is a peak into the update that can change your life. Because you have to see the success of your goal that you set out to do. For if you do not believe you can make a success of it. Then be honest, you will not set it as a successful goal. You will sabotage your success before you even started. You will not make the needed effort to get your successful results.

Peaches and creme bath

Peaches and cream. It sounds like part of a delicious dessert. But now it is used. Not as part of a feast for your taste buds. But as a pampering session for your skin. Yes here it is used as a perfect combination for a relaxing bath. As seen I post a lot of bathing DIY posts. Because the truth is mostly bath time is meant for pampering too. We tell ourselves we don't have time for many things. No time is maybe the one thing most can agree on. So when it comes to unwinding from a busy stressful day. Spoil yourself by taking a few minutes extra.

3 eggs
Quarter cup olive or almond oil
Half cup yogurt
Three quarter cup cream or full cream milk.
1 cup apricot or peach juice.
1 Teaspoon witch hazel

Start by adding all the ingredients in a blender at a low speed. Add the cream or milk last. It must be stirred in gently. Pour it into a container that seals properly. To keep the mixture fresh always leave it in the fridge. Shake it before each time you use it. All you need to do is add half cup to your bath water. 

Please note
It makes enough for six times. 
It must be used within two weeks. 
Always shake it before each use.

Lavender and milk bath mixture

As seen I love sharing DIY (do it yourself) ideas for bathing time. Maybe because I know it is useful and it give a sense of pride. Or maybe because I know it can be the perfect gift. But then again for most people this time is also used to unwind from a very busy and maybe stressful day. So here is another great recipe that you can consider.

Lavender essential oil. Just 2 or 3 drops
One cup powdered milk 

Just mix the ingredients and pour into a container that has a tight lid seal. See the benefits of using it at bath time. Plus the fragrance of the lavender will truly calm your mind. Now the pampering has begun. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy your bathing time.

Bath salts with a fruity flavor

This seems to be a strange recipe for bath salts. But as unusual as it is. It may just be intriguing enough to consider. Whether it is meant as a gift or just a pampering session. See and test it yourself.

3 Packets Unflavored Kool-Aid. That means no sugar. It can be any flavor that you prefer. You can use three different types of Kool-Aid if you prefer.

If you use only one flavor Kool-Aid you can mix the Epsom Salts and Kool-Aid. Place it in a container that seals.

If you use three different types of Kool-Aid you can mix a quart of Epsom salts with 1 packet of  Kool-Aid. Repeat till ll three different packets are mixed in separate bowls. Now pour into your preferred container revealing beautiful layers when you pour each bowl of the Epsom salts and Kool-Aid mixture. You can even end it with a nice bow and give it that stunning appearance. It is up to you.  

It is truly an unusual way to make bath salts. But then again it can be fun too. Why not get your kids involved and keep an eye on them as they do it. It is a fun way to use family time. And they learn something that they will be proud of for a very long time.

Herbal bath salts mixture

It is a known fact that herbs can affect our moods. It can improve our moods to help us relax. It can do many more things too. So when it is time to take a time out just to relax. Consider this recipe. So with that in mind you can make your own bath salts using your favorite herbs.

2 cups baking soda
1 cup oatmeal that is finely ground
2 cups sea salt
2 teaspoons of your favorite dried herb. Also finely ground.

Mix everything together using your food processor. Each time you want to use it. All you have to do is take a few table spoons full with running water. 

Now relax and enjoy your pampering session while taking a bath. The benefits of your own mixture.

Honey and Vanilla bubble bath

Vanilla just has the ability to make a house feel like home. So when you consider it as part of your bathing routine. You may just feel at home, relaxed as well as pampered. Combine that with the benefits of honey and you have a well nourished skin too.

 So if you want to give a nice gift or just want to pamper yourself. Why not try this foam bath. It will nourish and moisturize your skin. But don't take my word for it. Try and see for yourself.


One cup oil
Half cup liquid soap
Half cup honey
One tablespoon vanilla extract (pure)

Mix all the ingredients together. Pour into a bottle that has a lid that will fit tightly. Shake each time before use. Only use a quarter cup with bath water that is running. It should last at least 8 times.

Refreshing spray for your face

Did you ever consider that sometimes you may just need that feeling of a refreshed face. So what can be done? You can consider this recipe made at home. It is a truly revitalizing feeling. As well as refreshed. Best thing about it? You know what is added. And you can make this mixture in minutes.

Witch hazel
Distilled water
Orange blossom essential oil 
Water melon cut into pieces

Please note
Always use essential oil sparingly. 
As it is very strong and concentrated. 
Which means few drops only!!!

Put the watermelon into liquidizer or juicer
Pour the liquid through a strainer. Now mix the witch hazel with the liquid.  Orange blossom essential oil for dry skin. Dilute with distilled water. Pour the mixture into a spritz bottle (spray bottle) Keep in the fridge. When ever you use this spray it gives a refreshing feeling to the skin and keeps your skin clean as well as balanced 

I find this spray truly refreshing. I hope that you will agree. But the added benefits is a clean refreshed face. As well as give a hydrated feeling on your face. Try and see for yourself.

Consider this if you suffer from varicose or spider veins.

If you suffer from varicose or spider veins. I have a very interesting opinion on it. But allow me to explain it completely before considering it. If you really want to get rid of varicose or spider veins. Isn't the best way to focus on the cause of this awful condition. It is said that there is no clear indicator for causing varicose veins or spider veins. What is clear is veins isn't healthy. Since last night I have been thinking. My mind worked overtime. Thinking of all I have posted about varicose or spider veins. While thinking of the ways to get rid of varicose veins and spider veins as well. If you consider the home remedies that works. My thoughts may make a lot of sense.

Last night I posted about garlic. I previously posted about raw apple cider vinegar. Cayenne pepper. Olive oil. Many other ways too. They focus on two conditions.Circulation and inflammation. Not even mentioning that it is effective ways to get rid of varicose or spider veins. If you read my previous posts about olive oil, or the benefits of garlic, or how useful apple cider vinegar is. You may have noticed that they all have this in common. 

If you go to a doctor. The first thing a good doctor will do is diagnose what is wrong. Then he or she will focus on the cause of the illness. Am I correct? Now correct me if I am wrong. But what if treating the cause can heal the problem? Is it possible. What if improving blood circulation and healing the inflammation can fix the vein issue. I agree that it has been said focus on your weight, standing or sitting too long and all other causes should be focused on as it causes strain on the vein walls. But consider this. Is it truly wrong to consider improving circulation to strengthen vein walls. Or is it wrong to eat foods that helps with inflammation.

I absolutely agree that you should use the home remedies. Because it does work. But why not treat the cause as well. The important thing is not to give up. But think about it. Don't expect it to work overnight. For many it doesn't work that quick. But it works. Many will go for surgery and later still deal with it again. So with that in mind. Isn't the best solution then to treat the cause? 

Solution then
Why not consider an anti inflammatory diet? That means eating foods that is high in anti oxidants, Foods that is rich in fiber. Foods that is rich in magnesium. Spicy foods if you prefer it. Not everyone can handle spicy foods. But again this is an effective way too. Apple cider vinegar and wild caught fish.  

With that said exercising is an important key to deal with the cause because it does two things. Improve circulation and at the same time help you maintain your weight too. You can also lift your legs (or where ever the affected area is) higher than the height of your heart to help improve circulation. You can also add essential oils to help balance your hormones. And last but just as important adding herbs such as horse chestnut and bilberry.

This may just be the real healer for varicose or spider veins. Consider it. Try it and see for yourself. The home remedies shared on this site works. But I can not ignore that treating the cause will be most important to avoid and improve the appearance and last remove varicose or spider veins.

Using this garlic oil remedy can cure varicose veins.

If you have varicose veins. Then you know how frustrating it can be to deal with it. Not even mentioning how painful it can be. Some of the causes of it is poor diet, insufficient activity, overweight, sitting or standing too long. But the biggest reason remains poor blood circulation and chronic inflammation. Because of this garlic is an effective way to help cure varicose veins. As it prevents inflammation as well as help to heal those affected areas. 

Items needed
2 table spoons olive oil
5 garlic cloves
3 oranges

Additional items needed
Plastic wrap
Warm cloth
Jar for the mixture

It is an application method so don't eat it. Please.

Mince the garlic cloves first. Then add the juice of 3 oranges. Last add the olive oil. Put in a jar and use after 12 hours. Leaving the mixture to rest for 12 hours is very important. Before applying on the affected areas always shake the mixture first. Apply a few drops on your fingertips. Rub into the affected areas using circular motions. Cover with plastic wrap and then put warm cloth on top. Do this every night. So why not make it in the morning and at night it is ready to use. You will be amazed at the results.

A friend sent me some advice and I thought it is rather strange yet interesting. So after some more research I am sharing it with you. But why not consider it for the benefits it has. 

Benefits to applying oil in belly button area
Benefits such as  dry eyes, eyesight problems, pancreas not working correctly, dry cracked heels and/or lips, glowing skin, dry skin, shiny and healthy hair, pain associated with knee pain as well as joint pains, shivering, and lethargy to name a few.

Why is this effective against every day problems? What makes it so effective? You may wonder. 

It is actually very interesting once you understand it. You know why it is such an effective remedy against some ailments. Your belly button can sense which veins in your body is dry and needs oil and send it to the correct area. All veins in the body is said to be connected to the belly button. An unborn baby gets nourishment directly from the belly button. Because of this all veins are connected to the belly button. Ever heard of the Pechoti? Where is it located? Just behind your belly button. It is connected to over 72 000 veins. By applying oil you nourish much needed parts of your body. Mustard oil

Neem oil

Ghee oil

Castor oil
Castor oil helps to relieve pains and aches in knees. If you apply it before bedtime it will help you to get proper rest.

So what do you have to do? You may wonder. Before bedtime apply three drops oil in the navel area. More correctly the belly button and spread it around one and half inches. Massage gently. Do this every night and you will be amazed with the difference. And improved benefits.

Use this home remedy and within a week see dry cracked heels look healthy.

If you are one of the many who suffer from dry cracked heels. You know how frustrating it can be. It can affect men and women. Today I am sharing a family home remedy that will either repair skin within one week or you will see amazing improvements within one week. Depending on how severe the condition is. 

It can be very painful and without any doubt can affect how you feel about your feet. I used to deal with this problem and can say it is frustrating. Extremely frustrating. There is so many theories of what can be done. As well as causes. Drink lots of water. I drink on average 2 to 3 liters of water daily. Don't walk barefoot. I am slightly guilty of this. But not enough that it can be proved as the cause of this problem. For me open heel shoes was something I could never consider.  Applying lotions and creams doesn't really work either. 

In the end it means extreme tender loving care that will work. I used so many products. But came back to the family remedy. Are you willing to try it? Without any doubt I can assure that this works. 

Items needed

I usually buy a pack of candles(6). Paraffin(750ml). That is the amount I use. Once the mixture is made it can be stored till needed again. Hopefully never off course. But then again, good to be prepared. But that is only a guideline. Best to start with smaller amounts of paraffin if you not sure. 

Melt the candle wax slowly in a container. Take the container off the heat. Add paraffin. Mix thoroughly. Allow to cool before using. Freshly melted candle wax can leave painful burns. Please be mindful of that.!
Apply every night. Wear socks after applying the mixture. Repeat this daily.

Seven days later you will be surprised. Truly you will be amazed at this. It is effective. It does really work. It is one of the best ways that I know of for dry cracked heels. On average it will be resolved within a week. Now ask yourself if you want to see a change, from cracked dry and painful heels to heels that does not have any signs of dryness.

Processed foods. What you should know about these dangerous foods

I want to discuss the topic processed foods. As it is important to consider. 
It is said that not all processed foods are bad for you. Processed foods is food that is in some way altered. 

Types of processed foods.
It can be foods such as
Canned vegetables
Salty snacks, such as chips crisps, pies pasties or sausage rolls
Meat such as ham, sausage, salami, polony, viennas, bacon.
Easy convenient foods such as microwave ready meals or meals that is ready to eat
Biscuits and cake 
Drinks. Soft drinks or milk

Again not all processed foods are considered bad. But it is a sure known fact that not all processed foods are considered good for you. Here is a few things to consider. Before you go out and add it to your grocery list again. Better yet. Read the label next time you want to add it to your trolley. 

Processed foods tend to be high in sugar.
Sugar as good and needed as it may be. Can be very harmful when it is used in excess. Sugar slows down your metabolism. Health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity and the dreaded C, cancer is associated with overuse of sugar. Sugar has no calories but is loaded with energy. As all know if you give your precious young child high sugary foods or sweets. They have loads of energy. And you think to yourself next time to buy fruit or limit those sugary stuff. Most get sugar not from drinking tea coffee or adding to cereals. But the real culprit is processed foods. Think about that.

Artificial ingredients.
You go shopping. You want to make sure that your family eats food that is healthy and nutritious, right? But at times you have no idea what the labels are telling you. So what does it all mean then, allow me to help by explaining it.
Preservatives is easily explained, ingredients that doesn't allow food to rot or go bad. ( Yet we ingest that. You really want that inside your body?)
Colorants helps food to maintain or have a specific colour. 
Flavor or flavorant. Helps food to have a specific taste.
Texturants helps food to have a specific texture.
With that said remember that many other chemicals does not even get mentioned on your label.

Refined Carbohydrates
Despite the fact that there has been a debate about how good or bad carbohydrates can be. There is one thing that they all agree about. Refined carbohydrates is an absolute no-no when you consider your health. It is not strange to have carb cravings when you had or have refined carbs. Because it causes a sugar spike. But the magic starts when that sugar go down again. Then the craving for carbs start all over again. Magic? No others will call it the blood sugar roller coaster.
Whole grains or is it? 
It means there was some form of healthy breakfast cereals added, right? Wrong it is nicely disguised So what is it then if not cereal? It is a form of fine flour. Considered just as unhealthy as refined carbohydrates. Also known to be bad as it can cause serious health risks.

When you think of the nutrients it is very low in the nutrients that your body needs. Especially when you compare it to food that was not processed. In many cases vitamins and minerals are added to compensate for the nutrients lost. But again it is not a replacement for the nutrients that comes from whole foods. So when you consume processed foods. You also eat less vitamins minerals and the much needed antioxidants your body needs.

Fiber is good for you because it helps your intestine as it feeds the friendly bacteria known as prebiotic. At the same time fiber can help with constipation problems. Which is a very common issue for many today. But when that fiber is added to processed foods. Sadly it loses its goodness. So fiber is lost or intentionally removed.

Trans fat
Processed food is high in fats that is very unhealthy. Cheap versions such as hydrogenated fats soybean vegetable oil or refined seed oils. But when used in processed foods it turns into trans fats and becomes bad for your health.  Because these fats has too much Omega 6 fats it can cause inflammation in the body. It can also cause oxidation. But by consuming processed foods you may increase your risk for heart diseases. Hydrogenated fat is one of the worst types of fat that you can consume. 

Junk food
Processed food is considered as junk food. Doctors will tell people to either limit or stop using it. We live in a society where junk food is easily accessible. Again it is ready to eat foods. In most situations. But given recent times. How safe is it really? I think of the things I have seen and heard. Big brands that you would think would realize that people should matter. But then the facts show it is about mass production and selling their product. At the expense of harmful products.

Remember this
There is no amount of junk food that is considered good if you have to deal with serious health issues. Can that product ever justify trouble with poor health? The best part of it. You paid for your hospital stay. How? You bought the food thinking it is safe or convenient. Or even easily accessible. Or maybe you just felt like it. And why not. They would not sell something that is just very bad for you. Would they?
Really, would they? I am sure you know the answer to this.

So with all this in mind. Why not consider real good healthy food? The best way to avoid health issues that was mentioned in this article is to change and stay with good wholesome food. Don't get me wrong. I am as guilty as everyone else for buying a chocolate. So this is not me telling others while I sit and think I am not part of the problem. I am just as guilty. But I will consider making better choices in the future. When does the future start? Right now. And each time I have to go grocery shopping. 

I have a doctor's friend. Very passionate about helping everyone. Yes even I get questioned if I do everything correctly. It can make me a bit upset but then I realize he cares,  he really cares about people being healthy. He makes it very clear that there is no reason to consider foods that is not healthy. Your nutrients should come from food that is actually good for you. I even once made the mistake of telling him to make sure my health is good I even buy multivitamins. And he made it clear eat correctly. Leave the multivitamins. That is what works. So do not substitute the correct foods with cheap unhealthy versions. 

The point is what we do now. We will be rewarded for. By making poor health choices. We suffer with health issues. Some times serious health issues. Next time you go into a store and hold a jar or can processed food. Remember, the longer the shelf life, The shorter your life will be. It's not just with processed foods. It is a lifechoice. Whether it is not being active Or doing things we know is bad for us. Or just poor choices when eating foods. Remember. Later we will pay the piper. What will be the consequence for your choices? Ask yourself. Is it truly worth it to maybe later in life have serious health issues. I say no.
